Museum Design

Design Criteria:
  • Showcase the magic that goes into building the world of One Piece.
  • Inspire creativity and interest in Anime, Manga, and other forms of entertainment.
  • Actively engage guests in learning about One Piece and the industry.

The One Piece Museum will be designed to show off the inner workings of One Piece and not just from the perspective of the story.

Guests at the One Piece museum will be shown an interactive experience that will highlight everything in the One Piece universe from the story and the characters, to the production of the show, to the manga and even the writer and creator Eiichiro Oda.

The element that guests will first see and experience will be a life size replica of the Going Merry, the ship that Luffy and his crew sailed on.

The ship will sit in the middle of the entire museum. Guests will be able to board her and see inside the famous ship and interact with parts of the ship including the main cannon which will shoot cannon balls onto a projected background. Guest can use this to test their marksmanship with the cannon and play a little shooting gallery game along side the Straw Hat Pirates.

Another part of the museum will be the character displays in which guests will be able to see and interact with the different technology and abilities in the world of One Piece. These include but are not limited to:
Luffy's Gomu Gomu no mi rubber ability that allows him to stretch.
Franky's cyborg implants,
and a "How To Cook Like Sanji" cooking interactive station with Sanji.

A third display will be an interactive display for smart phone users that will give them their own log pose.

With the log pose app, users can interact with the display to chart there own voyage through the One Piece world.

The other displays in the museum will have places to scan that will provide information on how to navigate the dangerous oceans of the world of One Piece. The display will be called "Nami's Navigation Challenge!"

Finally the museum will offer a whole interactive hallway complete with touch screens that will show off how One Piece is drawn and put together.

The touch screen will allow guests to have a interactive step by step guide on drawing the characters and environments. When the guests interact with the touch screens, the world of One Piece will build right in front of them. There will also be a time line the guests can touch and interact with to see how some of the main characters have changed from their concept days to the present.

The final station in the hallway will be a place where guests can put together the concept arts and character models into their own collages and short film clips. Guests will be able to print out or download these edited pieces to take home as souvenirs.
